Conjugation map
In abstract algebra an inner automorphism is an automorphism of a group, ring, or algebra given by the conjugation action of a fixed element, called the conjugating element. They can be realized via simple operations from within the group itself, hence the adjective "inner". These inner automorphisms form a subgroup of the automorphism group, and the quotient of the automorphism group by this subgroup is defined as the outer automorphism group. WebThe outer automorphism group is dual to the center in the following sense: conjugation by an element of G is an automorphism, yielding a map σ : G → Aut(G). The kernel of the conjugation map is the center, while the cokernel is the outer automorphism group (and the image is the inner automorphism group).

Web2) (3 points) Recall that for any real vector space V we defined the "conjugation" map on the complexification τ: C ⊗ V → C ⊗ V Prove that the following diagram commutes where (−) : C n → C n is the more usual conjugation map, and where C ⊗ R n → ∼ C n is the isomorphism we constructed in class WebAntilinear map. In mathematics, a function between two complex vector spaces is said to be antilinear or conjugate-linear if. Antilinear maps stand in contrast to linear maps, which are additive maps that are homogeneous rather than conjugate homogeneous. If the vector spaces are real then antilinearity is the same as linearity.
